1st National Adivasi Olympiad · 2026

Dear Community Elders, Parents, Teachers, Young Adivasi Scholars and Students,

Johar!

It is with immense pride, humility and a deep sense of responsibility that we welcome you to the 1st National Adivasi Olympiad, a milestone initiative dedicated to celebrating the intellectual vigor, rich cultural heritage and innate brilliance of our young generation.

The Spirit of Adivasiyat and Our Foundations

Adivasiyat is not merely an identity; it is a profound philosophy grounded in harmony with nature, community solidarity, egalitarian values and a time-tested worldview. For generations, our ancestors have preserved and nurtured deep systems of knowledge, philosophy and sustainable living.

The conception of the National Adivasi Olympiad arose from a vital realization: that our youth must not only excel in contemporary education and competitive arenas but also remain rooted in the wisdom and cultural consciousness of Adivasiyat. The foundation of this initiative was laid to create a dedicated platform where the intellectual capabilities and analytical strengths of tribal students are recognized, nurtured and elevated to national and global horizons.

Gratitude to Our Mentors

We stand on the shoulders of giants. This vision could not have taken shape without the continuous blessings, guidance and unwavering support of our community elders and thinkers. We extend our deepest gratitude to venerable elders, particularly:

  • Mr Mahadev Toppo (Poet / Author), COT Lit, Member of Sahitya Akademi
  • Dr. Abhay Sagar Minz (Prof. Anthropology), DSPMU, Ranchi
  • Dr. Deonis Xess (Director, Divine Hospital), Ranchi
  • Mr Niranjan Kujur (National Award Winner, Filmmaker), Alumnus, Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata

  • Dr. Neelam Kerketta, Jashpur (PhD, JNU, Environmental Sustainability)
  • Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Biruly, Jamshedpur Cooperative Law College
  • Mr Ganga Ram Gagrai, FCI (Government Employee), New Delhi

We are equally grateful to Team Dhumkudiya and the numerous mentors and well wishers whose encouragement laid the bedrock for this noble endeavor. Their legacy of service and advocacy continues to illuminate our path.

The Concept of the National Adivasi Olympiad

The National Adivasi Olympiad is designed to stimulate critical thinking, academic excellence, problem-solving abilities and an appreciation for indigenous knowledge systems. It bridges the gap between conventional scholastic benchmarks and the rich contextual intelligence inherent in tribal culture. Above all, this is an initiative for the Adivasis, by the Adivasis — a self-reliant effort driven by our community to uplift our own next generation.

The Role of Adivasi Wisdom Trust

At the heart of this movement is the Adivasi Wisdom Trust, an institution committed to playing a pivotal role in the reawakening of Adivasi identity and the revitalization of our rich traditional knowledge systems. The Trust seeks to document, preserve and integrate traditional tribal wisdom into modern academic paradigms, ensuring that our children take immense pride in their roots while fearlessly shaping the future.

An Appeal to Parents and Students — Classes 6 to 10
